Donation Refund Policy

We are committed to transparency in how we handle donation requests and refunds.

1. General Policy

All donations made to Uncle Julie Foundation Inc. are voluntary contributions intended to support our charitable mission of reducing food waste and fighting food insecurity. As a general policy, all donations are non-refundable. Once a donation is processed, the funds are directed toward our programs and operational activities.

2. Exceptions — When Refunds May Be Considered

We understand that errors can occur. We will consider refund requests in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate donations: If you accidentally donated more than once for the same intended contribution.
  • Unauthorized transactions: If a donation was made without your knowledge or consent (e.g., fraudulent use of your payment method).
  • Incorrect donation amount: If a technical error caused a different amount to be charged than intended.

⚠️ Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the original donation date. Requests submitted after this window may not be honored.

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us within 30 days of your donation with the following information:

  • Your full name.
  • Email address used for the donation.
  • Date of the donation.
  • Amount donated.
  • Reason for the refund request.

4. Processing of Approved Refunds

If your refund request is approved:

  • Refunds will be returned to the original payment method (credit/debit card or PayPal account).
  • Processing may take 5–10 business days depending on your bank or payment provider.
  • We will notify you by email once your refund has been processed.

5. Tax Implications of Refunds

If you received a donation receipt for tax purposes and your refund is approved, please note that the refunded donation may no longer be tax-deductible. We recommend consulting a tax professional regarding any adjustments to previously claimed deductions.

6. Recurring Donations

If you have set up a recurring monthly donation and wish to cancel, please contact us at least 5 business days before your next scheduled billing date. We will cancel future charges promptly. Past charges that have already been processed are subject to this Refund Policy.
