How We Make a Difference

We tackle food insecurity and food waste through four interconnected programs, each designed to address a different piece of the problem. Together, they form a complete ecosystem of impact.

01.

— Food Recovery & Redistribution

We collect surplus food from local businesses and put it directly into the hands of families who need it most.

02.

— Community Food Support

Regular food distribution events and grocery support for vulnerable households in our community.

03.

— Humanitarian Outreach

Extending our reach to underserved communities locally and internationally with food and essential resources.

04.

— Sustainability Advocacy

Educating and empowering communities to reduce food waste and adopt responsible food practices.

Food Recovery & Redistribution

Every day, grocery stores, restaurants, and food businesses discard enormous amounts of safe, nutritious food simply because it has reached its sell-by date or cannot be sold. Uncle Julie Foundation bridges this gap — recovering that food before it is wasted and delivering it to families in need.

We coordinate directly with food businesses to schedule regular food pickups, ensure proper handling and storage, and distribute recovered food through our community network.

  • Partner with local grocery stores, restaurants & food businesses
  • Schedule regular surplus food collections
  • Inspect and sort food to ensure safety and quality
  • Package and distribute food to families and community centers
  • Maintain cold chain integrity for perishable items
