Our Story
More Than a Charity — A Community Promise.
Uncle Julie Foundation Inc. was born from a simple but powerful belief: that no safe food should go to waste while families go hungry. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity rooted in Laurel, Maryland, with a heart that reaches far beyond.
Who We Are
A Maryland Nonprofit Fighting Food Insecurity
Uncle Julie Foundation Inc. is a Maryland-based nonprofit organization recognized as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are headquartered in Laurel, Maryland, and serve communities locally and beyond.
Our mission is to reduce food waste and provide meaningful support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. We partner with grocery stores, restaurants, food businesses, and caring community members to recover surplus food that would otherwise go to waste — and put it directly into the hands of those who need it most.
We believe that fighting hunger and reducing waste are two sides of the same coin. Every meal recovered is a family fed and a step toward a more sustainable community.
